Two months after her "magical" wedding, newlywed Nicole Richie is reveling in all aspects of married life with husband Joel Madden – including the financial perks.

"I can take his credit card and buy anything with it without anyone questioning me about it. That's definitely one thing I'm loving," Richie, 29, joked to PEOPLE at New York's high-end Bergdorf Goodman department store.

It doesn't stop there. Richie has decided to take her husband's last name and finds it quite delightful being referred to as a missus.

"I just went to Ireland, and it was really the first time I was called Mrs. Madden," she says. "The people were asking me if my last name is Madden, and I was like, 'Yeah, my last name is Madden now.' And they were like, 'You're one of us!' And I was like, "Oh, hell yeah I am.' It's awesome to be known as Mrs. Madden. It's music to my ears."

On hand at Bergdorf to celebrate the start of New York Fashion Week, Mrs. Madden is about to unveil her highly anticipated House of Harlow 1960 collection. But one person who doesn't understand the fuss is the line's namesake – Richie's 3-year-old daughter Harlow.

"She's still too young to understand fashion, but she loves to play with my makeup and tries on my lipstick," she says. "I just let her do it because it's part of being a girl and part of experimenting. It's all in good fun."

It turns out Harlow has a steady hand with the lipstick, unlike her mom.

"She's very good at it and very careful with it. She doesn't go outside the lines – not even once," says Richie. "I am the opposite. I'm the girl who can't wear red lipstick because I'll forget about it and it ends up on the side of my face. She may have to start teaching me to be more careful."

On Tuesday's The Talk, newlywed Nicole Richie, 29, dished on her wedding, marriage and whether she and Joel Madden, 31, will add to their brood.

After four years as a couple, Richie admitted that married life has its own quirks.

"It's different because I know I can get away with more," she said. Asked if she would elaborate, Richie replied: "I haven't tested him yet."

Richie was a bit cagey on whether her children Sparrow, 1, and Harlow, 2, would get a baby brother or sister anytime soon. "I don't think it's fair to ask someone that's had two back-to-back if they're going to have another one," she said. "You never know."

With two toddlers running around and an elaborate wedding under her belt, she is sure of one thing: "I need a nap."

Christina Aguilera, who just turned 30, is ready for a fresh start – and what better way to celebrate than with a big bash for her family and friends?

The singer and Burlesque star threw a party at her Beverly Hills home on New Year's Eve, with 175 guests, including her new man Matt Rutler and celeb pals and newlyweds Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

Aguilera – who toasted the New Year with a custom bottle of Moët champagne with her name engraved on it – wowed the crowd in a silver sequin Herve Leger dress and jeweled Christian Louboutin heels. "She was so excited!" a guest tells PEOPLE. "She was all smiles all night and really relaxed. She's had a tough year, but she looked genuinely happy."

Indeed, the singer recently confided her anticipation of the event in an interview with PEOPLE. "This party is all about counting down to the new chapter of my life," she said. "I'll be surrounded by friends and family who care and love me to death."

With the party and the kick off of 2011, she's closing the book on a difficult year in which she filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman.

"It's really a time for me to look forward to the next chapter in my life," Aguilera added. "I couldn't think of a better way to bring in the New Year [than with a party]."

The event was also about good old-fashioned fun, and featured a Tarot card reader, a photo booth, three bars, a dance floor and deejay and a sushi bar. After midnight, mini egg McMuffins were served as the first breakfast of 2011.

As for hitting the big 3-0, Aguilera says she has no worries on growing older.

"Everything is exciting right now," she says. "I'm an actress and I'm a single mom. I'm entering my thirties. I'm looking at this as an exciting new chapter in my life."

If the eve of the New Year is anything to go by, she's looking at a good year ahead, according to one guest. "At midnight, she got up on stage and thanked everyone for coming. She told everyone how excited she was about the new year, and how normally New Year's Eve parties are usually a disappointment, but this year she wanted all her friends to have a really fun night. And it was! It was a great party."

Madden added that he is usually the “no guy” but let the massive shocker roll off his back out of love for his bride.

“But if there’s one time I want her to have the craziest thing she wants, it’s the day we marry.”

Why in the world was there an elephant at Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's wedding?

Folks were baffled Saturday when an elephant with an elaborate headdress was seen entering the premises of Lionel Richie's Beverly Hills estate -- where 150 guests watched his daughter and Madden exchange vows.

The answer lies in an interview Richie, 29, gave way back in November 2005, when she was then engaged to marry the late DJ A.M. (real name: Adam Goldstein).

On Larry King Live! she told guest host Ryan Seacrest all about her wedding plans. "I want to have a very, very big wedding. I want it to be very extravagant. I want like hundreds of people and elephants...and a horse and carriage."

Befuddled, Seacrest asked about the inclusion of elephants. "Because elephants are really good luck," Richie explained. "And they're beautiful animals. You don't think?"

To illustrate, she added: "You know, the movie Coming to America," in which Eddie Murphy plays an African prince who has a beyond-lavish wedding with elephants and many other creatures.

"I want it bigger than that," she said.

Elephant or not, Richie's actual nuptials were slightly more low-key. Richie wore three different Marchesa outfits for the black-tie, winter-themed event, attended by celeb pals like Khloe Kardashian and Samantha Ronson. Rapper-minister Rev. Run officiated the ceremony, and guests dined on goodies like homemade butternut squash ravioli, filet mignon and a dessert buffet.

They may have called a truce in 2006, but that doesn't mean Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are as close as they once were.

When Richie, 29, tied the knot to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden at her father Lionel's Beverly Hills estate on Saturday, her former Simple Life costar was noticeably absent.

Hilton showed no signs of misery when she jetted off to Las Vegas to celebrate her friend Jennifer Rovero's birthday on Saturday -- the same day her former BFF walked down the aisle.

Which Star Officiated Nicole Richie's Wedding?

When Nicole Richie and Joel Madden exchanged vows in Beverly Hills on Saturday, they had a very special man of the cloth helping them out: Rev. Run!

"Joel and Nicole have looked up to Rev. Run, so they wanted him to officiate," a guest of the wedding tells Us Magazine exclusively. The Run-DMC rapper and reality star, 46 (real name: Joseph Simmons) is also a practicing minister.

Explains the guest: "They both appreciate his family values and he is an inspiration for both. They both also respect his faith, too."

Nicole Richie: Undecided On Wedding Dress

Though her wedding to Joel Madden is just one day away, Nicole Richie still hasn't settled on the perfect gown.

"She's deciding between two dresses: Marchesa and vintage Chanel," a Richie pal tells the latest Us Weekly (on newsstands now).

Nicole Richie's Real Dad Won't Attend Wedding

The preparations are almost complete for the biggest day in Nicole Richie's life, but Radar Online has learned that her biolgical father will not be present at her wedding to Joel Madden.

Although it's been widely reported that musician Pete Escovedo is in fact her biological father, the starlet has been raised by Lionel Richie since she was just 3-years-old. The superstar singer and his first wife Brenda Harvey legally adopted Nicole when she was nine.

Escovedo's wife told Radar Online on Tuesday: "My husband is out of town, and will not be back until Monday." The couple are based in Los Angeles and Nicole's wedding is expected to occur this weekend at Lionel's home in Beverly Hills.

Born Nicole Camille Escovedo on September 21, 1981, the reality star has never publicly acknowledged that Lionel Richie's former band member is really her father. In fact, Richie denied that Escovedo was her father in a November 2005 issue of Jane magazine.

"The nature of their relationship is a private matter and will remain so," Escovedo's wife said.

Pete Escovedo's sister is well-known muscian Sheila E, but the identity of Nicole's biological mother is not known. There has been speculation that she was a former assistant of Lionel Richie.

Nicole Richie Wedding Preparations In Full Gear

As Nicole Richie and Joel Madden prepare to tie the knot, Radar Online has new details about the party preparation that has been going on at her dad Lionel Richie’s house over the past few days. Many are expecting the couple to wed on the Beverly Hills estate.

Photos of Lionel’s backyard confirm what Radar Online reported on Tuesday. A source had said that a stage was built on top of the pool in the backyard “so the guests will have more space to dance.”

The photos show the pool covered with a hard, flat surface and massive metal lighting structures surrounding the area. Radar Online confirmed that a truck from a special events lighting company based in Los Angeles went to the residence so it seems like the shindig will go into the evening hours!

“It's kind of cool because people will be dancing on top of the water," the source added.

As of Wednesday, there were also large tents leading from the house to the expansive backyard of the estate. Security was also heightened as party preparations continued.

Despite the impressive layout, a source told Radar Online exclusively that Nicole’s wedding will be a small affair.

“Nicole is going for a vintage and romantic vibe,” a source told Radar Online exclusively.

“Nicole cut down the guest list because she didn’t want a huge wedding.”

Nicole Richie Wedding Preparations Underway

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have remained tight-lipped about their impending nuptials, but many expect them to tie the knot at the Beverly Hills mansion of Nicole’s dad Lionel Richie. As anticipation of their big day hits a frenzied pitch thanks to rumors of an early December ceremony, Radar Online noticed a lot of party preparing action at Lionel’s house on Tuesday!

There were two party rental trucks spotted going to and from the residence as a body guard and one cop from the Beverly Hills police department looked on. One thing guests at the shindig can expect: a lot of dancing.

“A stage is being built over the pool in the backyard so the guests will have more space to dance,” a source told Radar Online exclusively.

“It's kind of cool because people will be dancing on top of the water."

Another source added that the party seemed to be mostly outdoors with a lot of white patio-like furniture with white marble table tops. Some furniture will be indoors as well.

While many details of the wedding remain under wraps, some guests surely on the list are Samantha Ronson, Richie’s pal Masha Gordon, Richie’s hair dresser Andy Lecompte, and Christina Aguilera.
